Grow, make, build and fight

Everything in Boz Universe starts small and grows with you. Everything works with mouse and keyboard and with a controller.

Skills

A world of skills

No levels, no classes. 53 skills that rise each time you use them. What you do is who you become.

Making

Gather and make

Wood, then stone, then metal. Every tree and rock can be worked, and new pieces are discovered as you play.

Building

Build in a moment

Walls, floors, stairs and roofs snap into place. Hold your village against raiders, or test yourself in the ring.

Fighting

Fast, physical fights

Heavy blows, dodges, warned attacks on the ground, fury, fighting arts and loot with legendary powers.

Your first hour

Everything starts somewhere. Yours starts here.

You wake alone on a seam-shard, a small island of your own people's land, where the world is thinnest. A young archivist of the Nazars walks with you, and the Chronicler names each chapter.

  1. I

    Bare Hands

You came with nothing. Most of us did.

Snap sticks from a tree, pry stones from the rock.

  2. II

    Var and Yok

Every door in this world asks one question: light, or silence?

Wake an old shrine's door with a lever and threads.

  3. III

    Things from the Seam

Where the eye is shut, the cold comes through.

Fight off the shades that slip through.

  4. IV

    The Element Wakes

Something in you has been waiting for this.

Choose fire, water, earth or air at the cracked lens.

  5. V

    Before the Night

Walls first. The dark is patient.

Build a shelter, then hold it till dawn.

  6. VI

    Even Riding Starts Somewhere

The kindest thing you do today will carry you.

    Calm a donkey, and ride.

  7. VII

    The Eye Opens

Look through it. Look how far it goes.

Set a machine running and wake the eye.

The Sundering

Before the first morning, there was the One

Light and silence, held as a single breath. Kayra.

And the One broke.

Var, the light, ran one way. Yok, the dark, ran the other.

Where they parted, worlds were born. One of those sparks was Boz.

The build menu, with forty pieces in groups

Build anything, piece by piece

Press B and the world becomes a grid. Floors, walls, stairs, roofs, forges and looms snap into place, and new pieces reveal themselves as you play. Build three walls and you work out a window.

No levels

You become what you do

53 skills rise a tenth of a point at a time as you use them. Swing a sword and you get better with swords. Chop a tree and you get better at chopping. All your skills together hold 700 points, so nobody masters everything: who you become is a choice you make by playing.

The Nazars

Thirteen eyes. One is shut.

Thirteen eyes watch the seams where the worlds touch. For an age, not one of them blinked. Now one is shut, and through the seam it watched, something is listening.

Who you are

Ten peoples. Ten old mythologies.

Choose your people and one of their two paths. Each reads the four elements its own way, carves its words in its own script, and starts out good at two things.

People 1 of 10

Norse

Longhouses, sea-roads and oaths sworn on rings. The world-tree holds nine worlds; the gods know they will fall at the end and fight anyway.

Hall-folk of the bright half of the year: smiths, skalds and shield-bearers who follow Sól's chariot and keep the hearth-fires.

Good at Blacksmithing and Swordsmanship · often earth · runes in Futhark

More about the Norse
A seeded world where two peoples' lands meet

A multiverse of seeded worlds

Universe Zero is the original world. Every other world is an echo of it, grown from a seed: a word or a number that always makes the same land, so friends can share one. Each brings two peoples' lands together.

The worlds

Ways to play

A world to live in, and fights to test you

Playable

Survival

Your own world from a seed: gather, build, tame, explore caves and lakes, and grow without levels.

Playable

Village defence

Raiders gather some nights and march on your hearth. Walls, towers and your settlers stand between them and your food.

Playable

The ring

Hadrik's gauntlet of waves, and five champions to duel one after another. Nobody dies in the ring.

Coming

More ways to play

Quick modes with their own loadouts, from arenas to raids, beside the survival world.

Questions

Asked often

When does it come out, and what will it cost?

There is no date and no price yet. Join the waitlist and you will hear first.

Which platforms?

PC first. PlayStation and Xbox may follow. Everything already works with a controller as well as a mouse and keyboard.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. One player hosts a world from the Play screen, with a password if they like, and friends join it to build, gather and fight together. Players can fight each other too, under the law. Public servers come later.

Are there levels or classes?

No. You get better at what you do, skill by skill, and your best skill gives you your title.

Is there a story?

Yes. The Chronicler tells the myth of the Sundering, and your first hour plays it out, from a broken world to the Nazar eye that shut.
